Responsibilities

As the UI/UX designer, I was responsible for designing the user experience of five exhibits and the user interface of three exhibits. Additionally, I provided guidance and support to two junior designers as they worked on the user interface design of two exhibits. The user experience design process involved creating wireframes, prototypes, and motion videos to showcase exhibit functionality.

Electoral Maps

This is one of the exhibits called the Electoral Maps

The Electoral Maps exhibit is designed to illustrate the difference in electoral results between 1984 and 1988. The image below shows the wireframe and final user interface (UI) design for the display screen. You can find this exhibit in the Brian Mulroney Building.

The Prime Minister’s Office

The Prime Minister’s Office exhibit is to showcase images, text, and people that visited Brian Mulroney when he was the Prime Minister of Canada.

The exhibit at the Prime Minister’s Office offers visitors three navigation options: by theme, year, and the people who visited Brian Mulroney in his office. Along with showcasing the professional activities that took place in the Prime Minister’s office, the exhibit also includes personal family moments featuring Mulroney’s children.

Other Exhibits

There are three other exhibits I worked on:

The Xaverian Album is a small exhibit that highlights Brian Mulroney’s life as a student at St. Francis Xavier University. I was responsible for the user experience, user interface design, and photo editing for this exhibit.

The Digital Labels are touch screen displays mounted on the walls of the building’s hallways. These labels serve as a labeling system, similar to traditional galleries, but offer a more interactive and digital experience for visitors. I was responsible for the User Experience of each digital labels, and providing guidance to a junior designer to make sure that the UI is consistent with the style guide and the rest of the exhibits.

The last exhibit is the video experience where visitors can navigate through a screen and watch all of Brian Mulroney’s speeches throughout his career as a politician.
