Royal BC Museum: Stories Carved in Cedar

Stories Carved in Cedar is a digital museum of Royal BC Museum and Digital Museums of Canada. This project aims to celebrate the historical and cultural significance of totems and uncover the stories they hold, while also providing a greater platform for the voices that preserve the spirit of these cultural symbols. Through this celebration of totems, the project seeks to give a greater voice to Indigenous communities and their traditions.

As a designer, my role involves interaction design and prototyping using Adobe XD to showcase the placement and functionality of the website. I used Sketch app to design the user interface and style guide for each page, while following the accessibility guidelines for W3C and graphic design. To edit each image, I used Adobe Photoshop, and for motion design, I used Adobe After Effects to create a better user experience for the website. This project was completed as part of NGX Interactive, and was fully funded by Digital Museums of Canada.
